Né à Metz en 1974, Samuel Martial, est
dès son plus jeune âge attiré par le
dessin et la création artistique.

Après avoir investi la ville au travers expositions et manifestations culturelles en tout genre, le jeune peintre a désormais marqué son territoire natal de son emprunte
artistique.Il décide alors de se tourner vers la capitale. Il emménage à Paris en 2006 et débute alors une longue série d’expositions. Ses quartiers ? SaintGermain, Montmartre, Montorgueuil…
Son terrain de prédilection ? La rue et ses lieux de vie, carrefours d’un public réceptif, parfois pointu et influent…

L'œuvre de Samuel Martial est complexe,à la fois brutale, fantaisiste et monstrueuse. Les tableaux sont parfois inquiétants et troublants, car il brouille les repères d'équilibre en brisant l'unité des corps et de l'espace. Sa représentation des figures et des corps humains traduit sa vision acerbe et satirique de la réalité et confère à ses toiles une force de conviction particulière.
Cependant, cette atmosphère angoissante est aux antipodes de l'épanouissement et l'harmonie des couleurs. Les chromas francs et lumineux apportent vigueur et énergie aux tableaux.
